Request a Paid Leave
For most employees (see exceptions below), you may begin or update a paid leave request by calling Workpartners, our leaves administration vendor.
For all new leaves and updates to existing leaves:
Call Workpartners at 1-833-852-2207
You'll be asked to provide your name, date of birth, and MIT ID number in order to begin a leave request. Workpartners will then provide the necessary forms via email or postal mail.

Exceptions
- Lincoln Laboratory employees should contact leaves@ll.mit.edu for leave requests.
- Faculty should refer to this information.
- Graduate students may request parental accommodations through the Office of Graduate Education website.
Medical documentation
Employees are required to submit medical documentation for all leaves related to serious health conditions. Your pay may be impacted based on timing of your leave request and receipt date of medical documentation by Workpartners. Workpartners needs 72 hours to process leave paperwork. It then takes 24 hours to get to MIT for processing. Learn more about medical documentation requirements. and timing considerations and the impact on your pay.
Request an unpaid leave
For personal leaves, review the Unpaid Leave policies in the MIT Employment Manual and discuss your proposed leave with your manager. Then use this form to request an unpaid leave.
